Who am I?

I’m Xiaoli Dong, born and raised in China but also strongly rooted in the Netherlands.

In China, I studied Chinese Language and Culture at Zhejiang University. Since 2005, I’ve lived in the Netherlands and worked as a linguist and specialist in Chinese Language and Culture (among others at Utrecht University). My initiation into acupuncture started in 2015 at the Qing-Bai Academy for Chinese Medicine and – in parallel – as an assistant acupuncturist at an acupuncture clinic in Arnhem. I combine my drive as a researcher with a relaxing and personal approach. These are the basic ingredients at Dong Acupunctuur.

The treatment

Balance is the core of Chinese Medicine. I approach complaints like stress, restlessness, back and shoulder pain, menstruation problems and headaches holistically. I strive to restore the natural balance and come to grips with the symptoms.

Needless to say that needles are an important part of acupuncture. The success of a treatment however does not depend on the quantity of needles but rather on the combination of acupuncture points that are activated. I also make sure to continuously monitor to determine the optimal duration of the treatment and adapt where necessary.

My practice

I have a small-scale practice. You – as a patient – are central, there’s time to talk and it’s together we determine the best course of action.

I’m a member of the Dutch Association for Acupuncture (NVA). This gives you the guarantee that I follow the latest developments and use the best equipment. It also provides you with the best conditions for reimbursement by your insurance.

My home practice is all about peace and quiet, a feeling inspired by the combination of natural materials and soft colors. You will also find this relaxed feeling on a comfortable bed rather than on a classic exam or treatment table.

Pricing

First consult (approx. 90 min.): 72 euros

Follow-up consult acupuncture (approx. 60 min.): 56 euros

Follow-up consult herbs (approx. 30 min.): 35 euros

Payment only by bank transfer/tikkie. Please check out the website of the Dutch Association for Acupuncture for an up-to-date overview of the reimbursement policies of insurance companies.


Parking and Public Transport

You can park for free in the neighborhood of the practice. Busses 3 (direction Zuilen), 7, 12, 27 and 120  stop at the Prins Bernhardplein that is only 200 meters away. If you're by bike, you can park in the garden of the practice.
